Zandee is from Mackie’s second litter and Xee’s first.  She is a sweet but sassy little number, who has her sire and grandsire firmly wrapped around her paw. She and Mackie are the very best of friends, having bonded within the first five minutes of meeting.

She completed her Australian Champion title not too long after she turned 2, with limited shows in 2021 and 2022. She’s a natural show off, requiring almost no training and loves to be in the ring. She still occasionally graces the show ring.

While I had intentions for Zandee to join her father as a herding dog, she really doesn’t have a lot of interest. She clearly understands how to manage sheep and has some lovely style, but simple doesn’t care for the sport.
 

Instead, Zandee’s primary hobby is accompanying me to local Farmer’s Markets and she certainly enjoys that activity.

In May 2024 Zandee whelped the first Orthanc litter, of four lovely puppies.  She had an uncomplicated whelping and was a sensational first time mum, attentive, but not a helicopter mother.  She gave birth to the Formula 1 themed litter, consisting of:

 

- Senna "Orthanc Pole Position (AI)" - Male Tri Coloured Rough Collie.  Senna now lives in QLD with an experience Collie owner and has a career as a Therapy dog ahead of him.

- Kimi "Orthanc Kiss the Apex (AI) - Female Tri Coloured Rough Collie.  See Kimi's page, she remains at Orthanc.

- Seb "Orthanc Takethe Chequered Flag (AI) - Male Tri Coloured Smooth Collie.  See Seb's page, he remains at Orthanc.

- Lando "Orthanc Smooth Chicane" - Male Sable & White Smooth Collie.  Lando is now 'Freddo' and lives in Victoria, joining a lovely family that simply adore him, who also have a female Smooth Collie from Ren's first litter.

Zandee has now started some obedience training and while she's not convinced by the sport, she sure loves the treats and spending time with me.

FUN FACTS: Zandee is from the Foxbell ‘Z’ litter.  Zandee is a derivative of Zandi, which means protector of man.
